Today’s Peugeot is of course the 308, which in a first for the company has been sold in two models, as they’ve decided not to keep changing the last digit each time and in any case they’ve already had a 309 (which was originally supposed to be the Talbot Florida).
The current one is sold as three foor and five door hatches, four door saloon (called the 408 and sold in only a few markets), five door estate and coupé/convertible. It’s based on PSA’s EMP2 platform which also gives us models as diverse as the Peugeot RCZ and Citroen C4 Picasso. But not the C4 Cactus because that’s actually a C3.
Power is by the usual mix of three and four cylinder petrol and four cylinder diesels and the equally usual five and six speed manuals and six speed automatics.
Yes, it looks like a Golf. Completely by coincidence of course.

Don’t forget the 270 hp of this sweet ride too.
And maybe, just maybe, Peugeot will also give us those 500hp of hybrid goodness!
